It is reported that our province started the organ donation trial after cardiac death on March 8 this year. Approved by the Provincial Health Department, the Provincial People's Hospital, the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, and the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University became the first batch of DCD pilot hospitals in Gansu Province. DCD is based on the donor’s wishes before his death and donates his own organs (including kidneys, liver, pancreas, heart, lungs, cornea, etc.) to the dying patients who are waiting for organ transplants. Due to the shackles of traditional concepts and lack of publicity, more than 100,000 people in China die each year due to accidents or emergencies.
