"Chinalco Red Mud Resource Utilization Project" adopts the direct reduction smelting technology and regenerative melting furnace technology developed by Jiangsu Mines Metallurgical Design Institute of Shenwu Group to process various kinds of smelting and slag removal efficiently and at low cost , Can be achieved on the red mud resources, "eat dry pressed". With a total investment of 820 million yuan, the project can process 300,000 tons of red mud annually with an annual output of 117,000 tons of mineral wool and 53,000 tons of cast iron, which has significant social, economic and environmental benefits.
According to reports, the comprehensive utilization of red mud has been plagued by global academia, government and alumina manufacturing enterprises worldwide problem. According to statistics, every ton of alumina produced by a global alumina producer needs to produce more than one ton of red mud tailings by-product. At present, only 60 million tons of red mud are produced annually in our country, most of which can only be landfilled or stockpiled. Soil, water resources and the environment pose a significant threat.
