Recently, Cathelco's Evolution ballast water treatment system began the shipboard test of the US Coast Guard (USCG) type approval.
The Evolution system was installed on the "Svendborg Strait" container ship owned by Carsten Rehder in Hamburg, Germany. Peter Smith, president of Cathelco's sales, said, "The loading process of the system was completed one day earlier than originally planned, demonstrating the flexibility of the system."
Before the shipboard test, the system also carried out land-based tests. It is expected that the land-based test will be completed by November 2016, and the shipboard test is expected to be completed by the end of March 2017. It is expected that the US Coast Guard will be acquired in the third quarter of 2017. Type approval.
