It is reported that the CA6DF2L series diesel engine is a heavy-duty diesel engine product platform that has been newly interpreted by FAW Dachai based on market demand. The emission meets Euro II standards, and the power output can reach 280 horsepower to 320 horsepower, and it also has great potential for increasing power. Yao Jingchao, general manager of Dachai Company, told reporters that the commissioning of the CA6DF2L diesel engine marks that Dachai's company is advancing toward “heavy truck” power by creating “quasi-heavy truck” power in accordance with the strategic planning requirements of FAW Jiefang. Dachai will formally enter the heavy-duty truck diesel engine market with this series of engines. According to reports, at the beginning of 2004, the domestic diesel engine market for heavy trucks has changed. Domestic mainstream diesel engine manufacturers have launched their own large-displacement diesel engine products, which has made the industry's product structure more obvious changes, and the market competition has become fiercer. Against this backdrop of market, Dichai fully recognized that product reliability is the primary condition that determines the product market life cycle. Therefore, in the process of developing and verifying the CA6DF2L series diesel engines, high reliability is the primary principle. Yao Jingchao emphasized that: “In the initial stage of development, we integrated advanced technologies, selected reasonable power, and fully ensured the reliability of our products. During the R&D process, we learnt from the introduction of technology and the development of cooperation with world-class power manufacturers in recent years. The research and development experience of the product has made significant technical improvements to key components such as diesel engine block, cylinder head, piston, and crankshaft, and has strengthened the structure of the diesel engine.” It is understood that in order to fully verify the reliability and durability of the product, the CA6DF2L prototype is reliable. The sexual test reached 5400 hours; on this basis, Dachai conducted a 300,000-kilometer user road durability test. The user test results show that the CA6DF2L engine's acceleration, road fuel consumption and other indicators have obvious advantages in the domestic similar products. “The most outstanding feature of this product is high cost performance.” Jiang Li, Director of FAW Dachai Product Engineering Office told the reporter, “In order to fully extend the high adaptability of Dichai's products to the market, we have regard to the configuration of external accessories and the size of the vehicle interface. This is basically the same as the CA6DF series. As the supporting system of the original product is continued, our product's price advantage is very obvious."
