"Eleventh Five-Year Plan" basically achieved two emission reduction targets in China

The goal is basically achieved. At the launch ceremony of the ten major Chinese and foreign companies jointly launching the “Low-Carbon Corporate Responsibility Initiative”, Li Jing stated that since the reform and opening up, China’s economy has developed rapidly, but the pressure on resources and the environment has continuously increased. Energy conservation and emission reduction, development of recycling economy, and a road to green and low-carbon development have become very important and urgent tasks facing us. The "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" proposes a binding index that reduces the energy consumption per unit of GDP by about 2% and the total amount of major pollutants by 10%. Over the past four years, various departments in various regions have made energy conservation and emission reduction an important responsibility for scientific development. Major progress has been made in the implementation of a series of policies and measures such as the implementation of key projects, technological progress, strengthening of management, and implementation of actions. The national action for energy conservation and emission reduction needs the joint participation and support of enterprises and the whole society.
