At present, China's high-end equipment manufacturing industry is still in its infancy and its international competitiveness is not strong, especially in the core technology field. As the industry continues to move toward automation and intelligence, the industry must boost confidence in development, enhance technology levels, and achieve the goal of a strong manufacturing equipment nation as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued the “12th Five-Year” development plan for the high-end equipment manufacturing industry. By 2015, the sales revenue of China's high-end equipment manufacturing industry will exceed 6 trillion yuan. Through 10 years of efforts, it will basically grasp the key core of high-end equipment manufacturing industry. Technology and industrial competitiveness have entered the world's advanced ranks.

The current advanced technologies relying on imports and high-end products rely on imports are still the harsh reality faced by China's equipment manufacturing industry. High-end machine tools, high-end engines, high-end instrumentation and control systems all need to be introduced from abroad. Among them, 90% of high-end CNC machine tools are imported, 95% of CNC systems are imported, and 70% of instruments and meters are imported. The Chinese equipment manufacturing industry should establish awareness of sensitivity and crisis.

The lack of high-end technology has become the biggest obstacle to the current development of China's equipment manufacturing industry. The industry urgently needs to accelerate the elimination of low-end production capacity and cultivate local core technology competitive advantages.

High-end equipment manufacturing industry is a strategic emerging industry that China vigorously develops. However, the current import of advanced technology and the import of high-end products are still the harsh reality faced by China's equipment manufacturing industry. Therefore, accelerating the innovation of industrial development model is currently the top priority. It should seize the commanding heights of the economy, accelerate the construction of multi-level capital markets, and effectively bring into play the role of capital in the allocation of market-oriented resources for the equipment manufacturing industry.
