Changjiang Automobile successfully entered the US market after BYD

It is no surprise that Chinese auto companies have driven their products into the United States. Following the rapid development of BYD's pure-electric bus sales in the United States, another Chinese car company's new energy vehicles will also enter the US market.

According to foreign media, the Wulong Group has invested US$1 billion in Changjiang Automobile’s automotive modification plant in California. It expects to mass-produce pure-electric commercial vehicles for the US market by the end of the year, model number V8070. According to the plan of Changjiang Automobile, this model will be manufactured in China and then shipped to the United States for a number of modifications to suit the habits of local users.

In 2013, Wulong Electric Vehicle (Group) Co., Ltd. injected capital to reorganize the Hangzhou Yangtze River Passenger Vehicle Co., Ltd., and renamed it as Hangzhou Changjiang Automobile Co., Ltd., with an investment of 5.1 billion yuan; in May 2016, Changjiang Automobile became the new energy company of Beiqi Automobile, The second company to obtain the qualification for the production of pure electric new energy passenger cars, and also the first non-traditional passenger car category in China to pass the approval of new energy passenger vehicles.

The V8070 is a medium-sized box truck that is built on the platform of Changjiang Yusheng and has 580 cubic feet (16.4 cubic meters) of storage space. At full load of 6,000 pounds (2.7 tons), it has 65 miles (105 km) of life.

Changjiang Automobile said that it has orders for some vehicles and plans to begin delivery at the end of the year. After the introduction of pure electric commercial trucks, Changjiang Automobile also plans to launch large trucks, buses and other models in the United States to further capture the US market.
