There are a total of 7 sewage treatment plants in Changsha's main urban area, with daily sewage treatment capacity of 100-1.10 million tons, and daily sludge production is around 500 tons. The existing disposal method is to add sludge to lime cement and loess for landfill disposal, but there are some disadvantages to the environment. The members of the CPPCC National Committee have seen the effect that this treatment may have on the future environment, and proposed the “Proposal on Promoting Standardized Treatment and Resource Utilization of Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant Sludgeâ€. The Changsha Municipal Office of Urban Management and Administrative Enforcement and the Changsha Municipal Water Affairs Bureau are initiating a project to centralize dewatered sludge treatment in the municipal sewage treatment plant. The project is located on the south side of the Huiming Biogas Power Plant. The daily processing scale of the entire project is designed to be 1,000 tons, including The daily treatment scale of the first phase of the project will reach 500 tons, and the municipal sludge will be deeply dehydrated using the international advanced thermal hydrolysis + anaerobic digestion + drying process. It is reported that in the future, food waste will be sent to the sludge treatment plant after the pretreatment of oil and water separation. The project will strive to be put into use by the end of June next year. City leaders Li Jun, Li Kejian and Gong Zhenxiang attended the meeting.
