Winterthur wins 2 Wärtsilä WinGD X-DF series dual fuel engines

Recently, Winterthur Engine Co., Ltd. (WinGD) has received an order for a new office supply LNG carriers 2 5 cylinder, 72 cm cylinder bore Wartsila WinGD X-DF series dual-fuel engine.

Because the machine is equipped with a low-pressure air intake system, the gas fuel system of the engine does not need to be equipped with a high-voltage electronically controlled compressor, thereby reducing the cost of components and the energy consumption of the entire ship.

Rolf Stiefel, vice president of sales and marketing at Winterthur Engine Co., Ltd., said, “With the implementation of the IMO Tier III regulations in the pollution control zone, the global market is increasingly interested in our X-DF series engines, especially Propulsion system for LNG carriers."

It is reported that the new LNG carrier was built by Daewoo Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for the Japanese merchant ship Mitsui, with a total length of 297.9 meters and a gas transportation capacity of 179,900 cubic meters.
