Analysis on storage conditions of bitter buckwheat seeds sampled by automatic counting instrument

As a kind of succulent forage, bitter buckwheat is an extremely excellent variety, and its high yield and good palatability are one of the most popular forage herdsmen. However, its seeds have short-lived characteristics, which limits its widespread application in animal husbandry. This requires us to study temperature, moisture, etc. to extend the life of the seed and increase its value. The object of the study using the automatic counting instrument sampling technique is bitter leeks seeds to ensure the accuracy of the research results.

The initial moisture content of bitter buckwheat seeds obtained by sampling with an automatic counting instrument was 812%, and the germination rate was 7510%. The storage treatment was performed. Under 14 storage conditions, the seed germination rate, germination index, and vigor index all decreased with the increase of storage time. The decreasing trend was the same and the degree of change was different. Among them, the decrease in seed vigor of plastic bags in low temperature freezing treatment was not significant, followed by other low temperature treatments. The rest of the treated seeds decreased rapidly in vigor, and the worst was stored in bags at room temperature. Storage was significantly different at storage at 23 months. The water content below 6% significantly decreased the seed vigor, and the seed had the fastest deterioration at 5% to 6% moisture content, while the water content reached about 815%. The seed vigor was the slowest, therefore, the bitterness of the seeds was at 81%. The amount of water storage is more appropriate.

Integrating the various limiting factors, seed vigor differs most significantly at different temperatures, so temperature is the main limiting factor for seed deterioration. Seed deterioration is slow at low temperatures and freezing is slower than chilling. The seeds stored at room temperature at room temperature have the fastest deterioration. It shows that the low temperature restrains the seed respiration to a certain extent, and the seed vigor declines slowly.

In the process of senescence, the bitter buckwheat seeds sampled by the automatic counting instrument undergoes a series of physiological and biochemical changes in the body, and the activity of certain enzymes is decreased, such as catalase. It shows that the seeds increase their respiration during storage and consume too much catalase, which destroys the normal physiological and biochemical reactions in the seeds. At the same time, the degree of damage to the cell membrane of the seed is increased during the aging process, and the intracellular environment is unstable, which affects the normal metabolism of the seed. All these have caused the decline of seed vigor.
